Byron Bay is truly unique
Byron Bay is on the doorstep of the Northern Rivers region with its rainforest, many small villages and picturesque countryside filled with smaller farms growing produce such as macadamia nuts, coffee, blueberries, lychees, stone fruit, dairying & cheese and many other interesting crops.
The intense popularity of Byron Bay can be, at first, a mystery. Sure, the beaches are sublime, but there are spectacular beaches all along this coast. Its locals have come to symbolise an Australian haute-boho lifestyle, yet much of the town is a squat, architectural mishmash and has a traffic problem. So why the legions of global fans? As they say in Byron, it’s the vibe.
Come to surf epic breaks at dawn, paddle through hazy beach afternoons and sigh at the enchanting sunsets. Come to do reiki, refine your yoga practice, do a raw fast and hang with the fire-twirlers by the beach at sunset. Idle with the striped T-shirt set at the town’s excellent restaurant tables, then kick on with backpackers, musicians, models, young entrepreneurs, ageing hippies and property developers at one of its beery, shouty pubs. Or, because it’s Byron, do all of the above, then repeat.
Plenty of things to do
Things such as learn to surf, skydiving, microlighting or hanggliding, kayaking with the dolphins, tours of the region, horseriding, golf, fishing, circus skills and art workshops or visiting one of the many attractions. There are also many things to keep the children amused!

We have lived in Byron Bay for over 8 years and we feel blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world. Our biggest passion is traveling and we absolutely love hosting people from all around the world. We love sharing local knowledge with our guests and will happily recommend restaurants, cafes, tourist activities, local designers, markets etc. We have been hosting on Airbnb for around 5 years and we also manage bookings for other local Airbnb hosts.
